Kazakhstan’s largest carrier, Air Astana Group, has signed a long-term contract with AJW Group for the supply of aircraft components for its Airbus A320 narrowbody family.

The contract came into effect on January 1 of this year and will be executed under a Power-by-the-Hour (PBH) model. It covers 56 aircraft from both the parent carrier and its low-cost subsidiary, FlyArystan, including previous-generation A320/A321 ceo models as well as the latest A320 and A321 neo, NX, and NXLR aircraft equipped with PW1100G engines.

“As we continue to grow our A320 and A321 fleet, including next-generation aircraft, this agreement provides us with the operational confidence and component support we need,” noted Peter Foster, CEO of Air Astana.

Currently, Air Astana’s fleet includes 30 A320 and A321 aircraft of both generations, while FlyArystan operates an additional 28 of these planes. In November 2025, the Kazakh carrier signed a MoU for the delivery of up to 50 Airbus A320neo family aircraft starting in 2031. The shareholders are expected to approve the deal on February 9.

AJW Group announced that the components will be supplied by its subsidiary, AJW Technique. The latter operates component repair facility in Montreal, Canada, and maintains a spare parts warehouse within the European Union in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Amsterdam hub is designed to ensure the rapid availability of parts to support Air Astana’s European operations.

AJW Group previously supported Air Astana’s A320ceo fleet from 2011 to 2019. Additionally, the company currently holds a similar PBH contract covering the Kazakh airline’s three Boeing 767 widebody aircraft.
