Kazakhstan’s flagship carrier, Air Astana, is set to roll out satellite internet across its fleet in 2026. The announcement was made by Zhaslan Madiyev, the Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, during a government briefing on January 6.

The minister noted that three satellite operators currently serve the Kazakhstani market, with two additional foreign providers scheduled to pilot their services locally later this year.

While the airline has offered in-flight broadband since 2018, the service is currently limited to its three Boeing 767-300 long-haul widebodies, provided by the British operator Inmarsat. However, those aging widebodies are scheduled to begin being replaced by new Boeing 787-9s starting in 2026.
