On March 12, the first charter cargo flight between Pakistan and Uzbekistan was successfully completed as part of expanding bilateral cooperation in the food sector.

The flight operated on the Lahore—Tashkent route. The cargo was transported by Pakistani carrier Air Eagle using a Boeing 737 freighter. The flight was organized by Air Speed Charter, a company specializing in charter cargo services.

The initial shipment of food products, including 17 tons of meat, has been delivered to the Uzbek capital. According to Uzbekistan Airports, the airport management company, the new project envisions a gradual increase in cargo traffic between the two countries.

The development of direct air links has intensified following the recent official visit of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan.

In accordance with the agreements reached, two private Uzbek airlines have announced the launch of flights to Pakistan.

Specifically, My Freighter will begin operating cargo flights on the Tashkent—Karachi route.
