Centrum Air becomes Central Asia’s largest operator of A330 widebodies
The private Uzbek carrier took delivery of its fourth Rolls-Royce-powered aircraft of the type
The private Uzbek carrier Centrum Air has become the largest operator of Airbus A330-300 widebody long-haul aircraft in Central Asia. On February 13, the airline took delivery of its fourth aircraft of this type.
The 16-year-old airliner (MSN 1037), registered locally as UK33033, is configured to carry 305 passengers, including 18 premium economy seats. The first three A330-300s delivered to Centrum Air in 2025 have a higher seating capacity, ranging from 347 to 358 passengers. All four widebody twins are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 772B-60 engines.
This latest addition marks the 15th aircraft in the Centrum Air fleet, which also includes narrowbody A320-family jets. The carrier aims to expand its total fleet to 21 aircraft by the end of 2026.
With this delivery, Centrum Air has surpassed another local private carrier, Qanot Sharq, in terms of A330 fleet size. The latter operates three such aircraft, one of which is currently wet-leased from the Turkish airline Southwind Airlines. Another local airline – Tashkent Air operates a single passenger A330-200.
In neighboring Kyrgyzstan, A330-200s are also in use, though exclusively as freighters: Moalem Aviation operates three units, and Sky Jet operates one.
