Privately-held Uzbek airlines from the Centrum Holding group, Centrum Air and My Freighter, have announced new flights to Pakistan.

This development follows a recent visit by Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan, where both sides agreed to enhance direct air connectivity.

Centrum Air will commence passenger services on the Tashkent–Lahore route in April, operating twice weekly.

My Freighter will initiate cargo flights between Tashkent and Karachi.

Centrum Air’s entry onto the Lahore route introduces competition, as the flag carrier Uzbekistan Airways has operated the same route twice weekly since December 2024. Uzbekistan Airways also flies twice weekly from Tashkent to the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, a service launched last summer.

Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, founder and CEO of Centrum Holding, highlighted the strategic importance: “It is a great honor for us that the projects of Centrum Air and My Freighter are becoming part of the interstate agenda and contributing to the development of regional transport connectivity. We are sincerely glad to be part of the process of strengthening mutually beneficial ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. The opening of new routes is not just an expansion of flight geography, but the formation of a sustainable ‘air bridge’ that supports business, tourism, and the joint development of our regions.”
